Restoration

We pride ourselves in the fact that we supply our own worked masony from simple coping stones to ornate carved masonry. Where possible we will only replace as much decayed or weather damaged stone as required to maintain a building or structure.

Chippenham

Restoration of a  house on the outskirts of Chippenham. The building is built of random rubblework with a small porch to the front elevation. The pointing to the property had failed due to weathering and poor maintenance so it was necessary to rake out the defective mortar and repoint in a traditional lime mortar to match the existing as closely as possible. The porch was cleaned using nebular mist spray and then repointed in a lime mortar.

London Road, Bath

Replacing pierced panels on the bay parapet. We carefully deconstructed the masonry and took the existing panels back to the workshop to copy the details. Unfortunately the panels were too badly decayed to repair. We fixed the new stonework along with the existing reusable masonry. We will endeaver to use as much existing masonry as possible in our restoration work.

Winsley

Replacement of missing balusters and defective plinth. The balustrade was disasembled and set carefully aside for reinstalling. An existing baluster was taken back to the workshop for copying. New plinth stones were fixed along with new and existing balusters on stainless steel dowls with the copings fixed onto dowls.
